fuckyeahhistorycrushes: Richard III of England.  He lived his life trying to help and support his older brother who he idolized, tried to do right by his family and his country, and has since been vilified by history for it.  I read Daughter of Time at an impressionable age, okay?  He looks awfully tragic in this portrait, to my mind.  He died at the age of 32, the last English king to fight (and die) in battle.
